May 12 Thursday Ok, Blog is being typed here in York exactly 4.0 hrs from Twyford. The Tower Guest House is 10 minutes walk into town. Diana from Singapore and her husband are the current landlords, Diana has a PHD in chemistry having worked at the Pirelli tire plant before buying into the B&B. Off we went to explore.
We walked in to the Minster and were very surprised to find that compared to the many Spanish cathedrals/churches which are often dark, gloomy and quite forbidding ,York Minster is very light and airy but very holy , if you get my drift, The choir was practicing for evensong and the effect was quite lovely. Of course by this time it was getting on for 5:30 and they were rolling up the sidewalks! We wandered around a bit, a lovely ancient city. The wind was a bit brisk, but it was dry and quite comfortable, Although it was quite early (by our standards)  we decided to find somewhere to eat and settled on an Italian restaurant which had a nice covered back terrace overlooking the Minster. Food was excellent, We thought about doing the ”Ghost Walk” but felt a bit tired and opted for heading back to the B&B for a wee dram and an early night. If this seems a little stilted, it is because I have already written a very good blog, and the computer went doolally! Soooo, we had to redo it! I think the first one was much better and funnier. Just lost my sense of humor!! The screen was flipping like crazy and we lost everything.

We had a wonderful visit with Sandy and Maureen, we are so lucky to have such wonderful friends. We love you guys, thank you for everything.
Tomorrow we head up to Edinburgh, hope the weather holds!
